Pastoral Code of Practice
Code of Practice
As an education provider in New Zealand, we have the responsibility to ensure our students have a voice that is heard, and are safe, cared for and supported on the learning journey.
To support this, the New Zealand government has developed the Education (Pastoral Care of Tertiary and Internal Learners) Code of Practice 2021.
The code requires us to:
ensure learners have a wellbeing and safety system
collect and use student voice to inform our practice
provide safe, inclusive, supportive and accessible physical and digital learning environments
ensure learner wellbeing and safety.
Note: As an organisation we use the Te Whare Tapa Whā model to help us understand wellbeing.
